Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has brought former Superior Court Judge Shermela Williams back into her office as a prosecutor — weeks after Williams resigned while Georgia’s Judicial Qualifications Commission was pushing for her removal. The JQC filed 17 formal counts of misconduct against Williams including ex parte communications with a litigant, threatening to rule against a mother’s custody of her child as retaliation, pre-judging every custody case before hearing evidence, and delaying final orders for families by up to 30 months.
