Mayor Brandon Johnson officially launched his 2027 reelection campaign, telling Chicagoans that his administration has made progress toward building a safer and more affordable city and that the work isn’t finished.

Before Brandon Johnson asks Chicago for FOUR MORE YEARS, we need to talk about the years he has already had.
The budget.
The migrant spending.
Property taxes.
CPS.
Public safety.
Homelessness.
Small businesses.
TIF money and development.
Affordable housing.
And the condition of communities that have been asking City Hall for investment for decades.
Johnson says Chicago “can’t go backward.”
My question is: Where exactly have we gone forward?
This election cannot become another campaign where Donald Trump, ICE, billionaires or Washington, D.C. are blamed for everything happening inside Chicago.
Donald Trump isn’t running for Mayor of Chicago.
Brandon Johnson is.
And this time, Brandon Johnson has a record to defend.
You wanted City Hall.
You got City Hall.
Now Chicago gets to evaluate the results.
He cannot get back in there without Chicago taking a serious look at what happened during his first term.
