A Miami mother is facing FOUR counts of child neglect after police say she left her four young children home ALONE while she went on a weekend cruise to the Bahamas. And when I say young, I’m talking about a 9-year-old, a 7-year-old, a 2-year-old, and a TWO-MONTH-OLD BABY!
Ma’am. WHAT?!
According to reports, one of the children’s fathers became suspicious after seeing a cruise ticket posted on social media. When he checked the apartment, he discovered the children were still inside. Police ultimately entered the home and found all four children without adult supervision.
But here’s where this story gets even more ridiculous.
During her court appearance, the public defender reminded the judge that fathers, grandparents, and other people also have responsibilities toward children.
And that’s where I have some questions!
Since when did parental responsibility become everybody else’s problem? And what kind of culture are we creating when personal pleasure takes priority over the safety and well-being of our own children?
As a mother who raised FOUR children under the age of four, including twins, I have absolutely NO patience for this foolishness.
