The last 15 minutes of the AM 560 Black & Right cruise took an interesting turn.
After CFR spent the second hour discussing Chicago, the 2027 mayoral race and what we’re building on the ground, Dennis Reboletti, Val Ojeda and Verlon Galloway joined the conversation.
Then came the political opinions:
Brandon Johnson is going to win.
Alexi Giannoulias will be in the runoff.
Danielle Carter-Walters doesn’t have the money.
And essentially, Danielle doesn’t have a chance.

Who is Dennis Reboletti?
Who is Val Ojeda?
Who is Verlon Galloway?
What campaigns and political organizations have they been involved with?
What happened in those races?
And what does the broader electoral record of Republicans in Illinois actually show?
Because there is a much bigger conversation here than Danielle Carter-Walters.
It’s about the divide between the traditional Illinois Republican political world and newer grassroots organizations like Chicago Flips Red.
CFR believes the old model has failed to build a durable Republican organization inside Chicago, and we’re going to explain why we believe our approach is different.
CFR ISN’T WAITING FOR THE OLD REPUBLICAN ESTABLISHMENT TO VALIDATE US.
We’re organizing.
We’re attending City Council.
We’re investigating public spending.
We’re recruiting candidates.
We’re collecting signatures.
We’re going directly into Chicago neighborhoods.
And Danielle Carter-Walters is officially in the 2027 race for Mayor of Chicago.
So instead of simply accepting somebody saying, “I’ve been doing this for 30 years,” we’re going to examine those 30 years.
