While viewers and independent observers immediately called out the explicit anti-Black language used against a grown Black public official, Joy Reid chose a very different path on her platform.
Instead of holding a former colleague accountable, Joy Reid dismissed legitimate outrage from the community by labeling critics “Twitter bots,” attempted to create an identity shield by claiming Jebreal is “Afro-Latina,” and framed textbook slurs as a simple “cultural misunderstanding.”
