???? REACTS: Athens Tax Preparer Gets 8 YEARS for $3.5M COVID Fraud SCAM! She Took a Cut from Clients’ FAKE Pandemic Claims!
Jessica Crawford, a 34-year-old tax preparer from Athens, GA, is heading to federal prison after pulling off one of the biggest pandemic-era tax scams in the region.
Authorities say Crawford filed over $3.5 million in bogus tax returns and even took a percentage of her clients’ fraudulent COVID unemployment claims. That’s right, while the rest of us were just trying to survive the lockdowns, she was cashing in.
Judge Tilman “Tripp” Self III wasn’t having it. He threw the book at her:
???? 96 months (8 YEARS) in prison
???? 5 years supervised release
???? No parole in the federal system
This wasn’t some small mistake; it was a multi-state investigation that tied her to a widespread fraud ring targeting COVID relief programs.
The message? If you steal from the system during a national crisis, don’t be surprised when Uncle Sam locks the door and throws away the key.
