A white woman went viral for saying what many people already think but are too afraid to say out loud: extravagant “hood prom” culture may be connected to a deeper crisis in the Black community — the collapse of marriage, fatherhood, and family formation.
And baby… Black TikTok did not like that.
But here’s the question: was she lying?
In this episode, I respond to the backlash and break down why people are more offended by the messenger than the message. We can argue about tone, skin color, and delivery all day long, but the truth remains: in too many corners of our community, we see massive celebrations for prom send-offs, baby showers, and gender reveals — but far fewer weddings, intact families, and covenant marriages.
That is not racism.
That is pattern recognition.
We have to ask hard questions:
Why are so many young women more comfortable becoming baby mamas than wives?
Why are fatherless homes treated like normal family structures?
Why do we spend big money on temporary moments but fail to build lasting institutions?
Why are we more offended by accountability than by broken outcomes?
The truth may sting, but it is not hatred. Sometimes the most loving thing someone can do is tell you the truth without rubbing your back while you remain in dysfunction.
