More forgotten Black America, right here.

This video was produced exclusively for Soulful Yesterdays. This channel brings back the everyday rhythm of Black American life from the 1950s through the 1980s: corner-store candy and Saturday chores, the soul food that stretched a paycheck, the strict house rules, the home remedies grandma swore by, and the front-porch talk that held a neighborhood together. We keep the memory, the resourcefulness, and the community that raised a generation from fading.
Creative Process Disclosure:
Scripting: Each episode is researched and written by hand, drawing from vintage Black periodicals like Ebony and Jet, oral histories, church and community records, and memories passed down through families. We celebrate the resourcefulness of everyday Black American households through factual, story-driven history.
Editing: A high-effort creative transformation. We restore archival photography, period imagery from Black homes and neighborhoods, and custom motion graphics, paired with professional color grading, to build an immersive nostalgic experience.
Voiceover: Original human narration recorded exclusively for this channel, carrying the warmth and cadence of the community it honors.
