Since the beginning of Krip-Hop Nation in the early 2000’s, we have supported, highlighted and organized events all around asking the question toward the music industry especially in Hip-Hop. One of our first international show was organizing by Lady MJ in London, England in 2014 and in 2019 Krip-Hop Nation organized what was called,GenderKrip Planet: an evening of performance celebrating the Krip-Hop mixtape, Hell Y’all Ain’t Talmbout: A Krip-Hop Anthology of Women, Femmes, and Warriors w/rapper, Ashana Jha, an Asian Indian disabled queer woman rapper, aka AJ420, and in 2023 Krip-Hop published an essay celebrating AJ420’s life by asking the question, AJ420: When The Chickenheads Come Home To Roost using Joan Morgan’s book, When Chickenheads Come Home to Roost: A Hip-Hop Feminist Breaks It Down. Now in 2024 after the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop and not seeing anything in the mainstream that went in deep about disabled women in Hip-Hop, Krip-Hop will be hosting an interview series looking at women Hip-Hop artists who are disabled, Yani Davis and Dr. DJ Kuttin.
